Manufacturing Process Integration Engineer

Hadrian Automation
Torrance, US

Job Description

Build the autonomous factory of the future with Hadrian

Imagine joining a company rethinking how the U.S. produces its most critical aerospace and defense hardware. Hadrian blends advanced software, robotics, and full‑stack manufacturing so rockets, satellites, jets, and ships can be built up to 10x faster and up to 2x more cost‑effectively.

Fresh off a $260M Series C, we’re scaling fast: launching a 270,000 sq. ft. factory in Mesa, Arizona that will create 350 immediate jobs, opening a new headquarters to support thousands of future hires, expanding into naval production with Hadrian Maritime, and rolling out a Factory‑as‑a‑Service model to deliver complete systems—not just parts.

We serve startups, Tier 1/Tier 2 suppliers, and major defense primes across space, shipbuilding, and aviation. Backed by Lux Capital, Founders Fund, and Andreessen Horowitz, our team is united by a mission to reindustrialize American manufacturing for the 21st century and beyond.

The day-to-day

You’ll be the technical bridge between new customer expectations and our factory’s capabilities. In a typical week, you might qualify a new automated cell, tune a GD&T‑driven process to hit microns on aerospace parts, and partner with software engineers to ship features that unlock throughput.

  • Translate customer requirements into production‑ready processes with full compliance and documentation discipline.
  • Lead onboarding for new customer programs so our capabilities match their technical targets from day one.
  • Prioritize and triage work during peak demand to keep flow unblocked.
  • Own defect disposition; drive true root cause and corrective actions to lift yield and cut rework.
  • Engineer the scale‑up from low‑rate to high‑volume production—process changes, infrastructure, and line design.
  • Introduce and qualify automated production assets; collaborate with software engineering to improve the digital tools that power manufacturing.
  • Redesign shop‑floor structure for rate: e.g., high‑volume wash stations, dedicated insert‑installation cells.
  • Stand up production processes in unstructured areas of our operating system.

About you

  • BS in Engineering or related STEM and 4–5 years of engineering in a production environment; or 5+ years in a high‑intensity production setting in lieu of a degree.
  • Hands‑on with machining operations and ultra‑tight tolerances, especially for aerospace hardware.
  • Fluent in GD you design, inspect, and troubleshoot to it.
  • Proven partner to cross‑functional teams—including software engineering—to expand production capability.

Bonus points

  • MS in Engineering or related STEM field.
  • 5+ years in aerospace manufacturing.
  • AS9100 quality systems experience.
  • Lean/Six Sigma toolset.
  • Practical use of SQL, VBA, Python, or similar to automate and analyze.
  • ERP/MRP proficiency.
  • Clear, data‑driven communication—able to articulate and defend decisions.

Compensation

Target salary range: $89,000 – $145,000 (actual pay may vary with experience). We share this range in good faith based on what we expect to pay for this role at posting time. Final compensation may be higher or lower and can change in the future. Position within the range depends on factors including, but not limited to: education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, location, performance, and business needs.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Relocation stipend if you’re moving from outside of L.A.
  • Flexible vacation policy
