The Role & Landscape

As a Market Data Support Engineer, you will be the linchpin between complex data ecosystems and the front‑office trading desk. You will ensure that massive, intricate datasets are highly accessible and functional for the firm’s elite quantitative researchers and traders.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary, first‑line technical support for researchers and traders regarding data access, usage, and troubleshooting.
  • Partner closely with core Data Engineers to escalate, investigate, and resolve complex data pipeline anomalies.
  • Take ownership of onboarding new hires, equipping them with the knowledge to utilize proprietary data tools efficiently.
  • Manage support workflows meticulously via JIRA, ensuring all requests are tracked and resolved within SLA.
  • Drive the enhancement of data documentation and actively contribute to extending data coverage, including live collection and backfills.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • 2+ years of solid experience in technical support, application support, or IT helpdesk, ideally within a financial services or market data vendor environment.
  • A strong command of Python, specifically utilizing data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas).
  • Proven proficiency in navigating complex data systems, data pipelines, and working with APIs.
  • Hands‑on experience with JIRA or similar project management and ticketing tools.
  • A service‑oriented mindset with the ability to remain calm and communicate clearly under the pressure of a live trading environment.
