Master Electrician – Field Service & Controls Specialist (PLC Programming)

We are looking for a skilled Master Electrician with strong expertise in field troubleshooting, system start-up/commissioning, and PLC programming for custom UL 508A industrial control panels.

This is a technical field-based position supporting customers across Texas and beyond during panel installation, startup, and ongoing service.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site field troubleshooting and diagnostics of UL 508A custom control panels, power systems, motors, VFDs, and instrumentation.
• Lead system start-up and commissioning activities, including I/O checkout, loop tuning, and functional testing.
• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and control documentation.
• Work directly with customers and contractors to resolve technical issues.
• Provide detailed service reports, red-lines, and commissioning documentation.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, UL 508A, and site safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Valid Master Electrician License (Texas or reciprocal)
• 5–8+ years of industrial electrical and controls experience
• Strong PLC programming background
• Proven field troubleshooting and startup/commissioning experience
• Solid knowledge of UL 508A control panel standards
• Ability to work independently at customer sites
• Willingness to travel (30–60%)
• Valid driver’s license with clean record

Preferred:

• HMI programming
• Prior control panel building or design experience
