About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Master Electrician with strong expertise in field troubleshooting, system start-up/commissioning, and PLC programming for custom UL 508A industrial control panels.
This is a technical field-based position supporting customers across Texas and beyond during panel installation, startup, and ongoing service.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site field troubleshooting and diagnostics of UL 508A custom control panels, power systems, motors, VFDs, and instrumentation.
- Lead system start-up and commissioning activities, including I/O checkout, loop tuning, and functional testing.
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and control documentation.
- Work directly with customers and contractors to resolve technical issues.
- Provide detailed service reports, red-lines, and commissioning documentation.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, UL 508A, and site safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Valid Master Electrician License (Texas or reciprocal)
- 5–8+ years of industrial electrical and controls experience
- Strong PLC programming background
- Proven field troubleshooting and startup/commissioning experience
- Solid knowledge of UL 508A control panel standards
- Ability to work independently at customer sites
- Willingness to travel (30–60%)
- Valid driver’s license with clean record
Preferred:
- HMI programming
- Prior control panel building or design experience
