Job Title: Materials and Process Engineer

Overview

Our client in Seattle, WA location is currently hiring a Materials and Process Engineer to support aerospace design, development, production, and in-service programs. This is a contract opportunity within a collaborative engineering environment supporting both commercial and defense aircraft across the full product lifecycle, from research and development through active airframe support.

Pay - $40.00 - $50.00 per hour (depending on years of experience, technical experience, and software proficiency)

Location - Seattle, WA

Schedule - Standard Monday - Friday (40 hours per week). Overtime paid at 1.5x when applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Develop non-destructive evaluation (NDE) procedures in support of airline maintenance inspections
  • Design NDE reference standards to support inspection procedures
  • Develop engineering specifications and technical documentation to meet customer requirements
  • Support evaluation of emerging technologies for potential application to aerospace programs
  • Assist with development and qualification of new tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes
  • Perform routine testing and audits to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements
  • Assist with corrective and preventive action implementation
  • Use project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements
  • Incorporate environmental health and safety, LEAN, and Quality principles into materials and processes, research design and qualification, work procedures, and lab and office areas

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited program in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry
  • At least 1 year of engineering experience
  • Knowledge of materials science related to metals and/or composite materials
  • Experience working with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong documentation and technical writing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across different teams and locations

Disqualifiers

  • No degree from an accredited technical or scientific program
  • No experience related to materials engineering, process engineering, or non-destructive evaluation
  • Inability to support onsite engineering or lab-based work
  • Lack of technical documentation experience

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
