Mechanical Design Engineer (non-standard automation equipment or handling modules)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical R&D and design of in-house automated equipment, including overall equipment layout, structural design, and mechanism development.
• Develop 3D models, perform simulations, and carry out related mechanical design activities.
• Design and develop tooling, jigs, and fixtures to support production and testing requirements.
• Support the selection of motors, pneumatic components, and other standard mechanical parts, and create overall motion and actuation schemes.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including process documents, engineering drawings, technical specifications, standards, and BOMs.
• Collaborate closely with the supply chain team and follow up on the fabrication and delivery of custom-made parts.
• Provide technical support during equipment assembly, system commissioning, troubleshooting, and debugging.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design engineering.
• Proficient in both 2D and 3D CAD design software.
• Solid understanding of machining and assembly principles, common mechanical structures and mechanisms, as well as stiffness and strength calculations.
• Able to independently manage relatively complex mechanical design tasks from concept through implementation.
• Prior experience in robotics integration and industrial automation projects is highly preferred.
• Exposure to biomedical, chemical automation, or medical device design would be an added advantage.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with good teamwork and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Open to international travel for training and project support.
