Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer specializing in Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) development to support industrial and manufacturing projects. The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of experience creating, updating, and maintaining P&IDs, ensuring accurate representation of fluid flow, control systems, and equipment.
This role requires close collaboration with engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant system designs.
Summary
This role is critical to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of industrial systems through accurate and high-quality P&ID development. The selected candidate will play a key role in supporting engineering projects and maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
•P&ID Development:
Create, update, and maintain P&IDs using industry-standard tools (e.g., AutoCAD P&ID) to accurately represent piping systems, instrumentation, and equipment.
•Collaboration:
Work closely with mechanical and process engineers to gather requirements and ensure designs meet technical specifications.
•Documentation:
Produce detailed P&ID documentation, including equipment symbols, control loops, instrument details, and piping layouts.
•Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all P&IDs adhere to safety regulations, industry standards, and project-specific requirements.
•Component Selection:
Assist in selecting appropriate piping materials, valves, and instrumentation based on operational needs.
•Change Management:
Track, document, and communicate revisions to P&IDs, ensuring all stakeholders are informed.
•Quality Control:
Review and validate diagrams for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project goals.
•As-Built Documentation:
Develop as-built P&IDs reflecting actual system configurations post-construction or modification.
•Communication:
Clearly convey design updates and concepts to project teams and stakeholders.
•Training & Support:
Provide guidance and support to junior designers and drafters.
•Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field
•5–10 years of experience in mechanical design with a strong focus on P&ID development
•Proficiency in AutoCAD P&ID or similar design tools
•Strong understanding of industrial processes, equipment, and instrumentation
•Knowledge of applicable safety regulations and industry standards
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
•High attention to detail and commitment to quality
