Job Description

Company Description

Studio Allied is a BIM and design services firm based in Seattle, WA. We partner with MEP engineers, architects, and general contractors to deliver high-quality BIM production, MEP design, and coordination services across Washington State. We're a lean, fast-moving team working on real commercial and government projects and we're looking for someone who wants to be part of building something meaningful from the ground up.

Role Description

As a Mechanical/Electrical Engineer at Studio Allied, you are the technical backbone of our mechanical/electrical design and production workflow. You own the mechanical/electrical scope from design through documentation, coordinate with other trades, and represent Studio Allied directly to our clients. This is not a typical drafting role, you think critically, communicate clearly, and take pride in delivering work that's right the first time.

Responsibilities - Mechanical Engineer

  • Produce construction-ready mechanical drawing sets in Revit and AutoCAD: equipment layouts, ductwork routing, mechanical plans, equipment schedules, etc.
  • Expertise in coordinating Mechanical systems with Electrical, Plumbing, Architectural, and Structural elements.
  • Brief the production team with clear, unambiguous scope and direction.
  • Own the QC process: review all deliverables and ensure they meet project standards and client expectations.
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, and project managers to keep projects moving.

Responsibilities - Electrical Engineer

  • Develop electrical system designs from architectural drawings and engineer markups: power, lighting, panel layouts, single line diagrams, and riser diagrams.
  • Produce construction-ready electrical drawing sets in Revit and AutoCAD: lighting plans, power layouts, panel schedules, and electrical details.
  • Expertise in coordinating Electrical systems with Mechanical, Plumbing, Architectural, and Structural elements.
  • Brief the production team with clear, unambiguous scope and direction.
  • Own the QC process: review all deliverables and ensure they meet project standards and client expectations.
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, and project managers to keep projects moving.

Competencies & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • +2 years of experience in mechanical/electrical design or MEP production on commercial projects
  • Experience in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and BIM coordination workflows
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems: equipment selection, ductwork sizing, ventilation design, heat pump and ERV systems

OR

  • Knowledge of electrical systems: power distribution, lighting design, panel schedules, load calculations, single line diagrams, and emergency systems
  • Familiarity with SMACNA standards, ASHRAE guidelines, and IMC with WA State amendments.

OR

  • Familiarity with NEC and WA State electrical amendments
  • Proficiency in Revit MEP and AutoCAD: produce full mechanical/electrical drawing sets independently.
  • ONLY Advanced/Native English speakers will be considered
  • Self-driven, proactive, and accountable.
