Volt is immediately hiring a Mechanical Engineer in San Diego, CA. As a Mechanical Engineer you will: This specific position is aimed at maintenance of the Mechanical and Hydro-Mechanical product design. Job roles can cover one or more composite disciplines: electrical, hydro-mechanical, controls manufacturing, software, and display. Apply analysis techniques to design structures, piping systems, and other package components and should have a basic understanding of structural analysis, system design, and turbine application and installation Work with sales order engineering to troubleshoot/correct project issues and ensure that the standard products are updated through the Enterprise Change Request process. Supporting internal customers on sales order execution issues and executing R&E projects This is a full-time - long-term temp, temp to hire role. Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8am - 5pm plus overtime. The ideal candidate will have: Excellent communication skills Bachelor Degree of Science in Engineering with a 3.0 minimum GPA is required. Working knowledge of engineering drawings and drafting software programs, i.e. AutoCad or Cero. The ability to communicate ideas clearly is a must. Other personal skills included ability to work well with others, team spirit and flexibility with personal schedule to meet deadlines. A sense of urgency and organizational skills are required to work with multiple projects and competing priorities. Experience in working in a manufacturing environment or specifically with gas turbine control systems is a plus. Knowledge of Oracle or other database tools is a plus.
