A venture-backed hardware startup combining aerospace-grade engineering with environmental science. They are developing portable systems designed to operate independently of traditional infrastructure. With a recent influx of capital and a move to a new facility in Torrence (LA) imminent, they are scaling their engineering team to bring their product from prototype to mass production.
The Role
You will bridge the gap between R&D and manufacturing, owning the mechanical design of consumer hardware that must perform reliably in harsh environments.
Lead mechanical design from concept to high-volume production. Design robust components involving fluid dynamics, pumps, valves, and pressure vessels. Develop and automate in-house production lines, including robotics integration. Perform rigorous testing to ensure aerospace-level reliability in a consumer package. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize the product lifecycle. The Essential Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar. 1+ years of professional experience in mechanical design or manufacturing. Strong experience with any of the following: consumer hardware, designing and testing high pressure pumps or fluid systems. Experience with fluid handling or electromechanical systems. Proficiency in CAD and FEA software. What will make you stand out Experience in the aerospace or automotive sectors. Background in high-volume consumer electronics manufacturing. Knowledge of automation, robotics, or process development. A passion for sustainability and clean technology.
