As a Mechanical Engineer on the HV Charging and Distribution team, you will design state-of-the-art high voltage products used across Lucid’s various vehicle platforms, investigate challenges with high-voltage distribution assemblies such as charge ports, HV connectors, and HV harnesses, and implement innovative solutions. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude, demonstrates excellence in their respective fields, and possesses the ability to adapt quickly within a fast-paced environment. They are always striving to push the envelope of what’s possible.

Role:

Take ownership of in-house HV connector designs, routing and optimization of HV harnesses and related components for next-generation vehicle platforms, ensuring successful implementation from concept to production and beyond

Exhibit a flair for creative problem-solving and attention to detail

Demonstrate technical excellence and apply engineering first-principles to new applications

Integrate mechanical designs with high voltage electrical systems in a multidisciplinary environment

Optimize designs for size, weight, durability, and cost

Create 3D CAD models and 2D GD&T controlled drawings of intricate components and complex assemblies

Qualifications:

Ideally 3-6 years of relevant work experience but open to all levels of experience if paired with strong technical ability

Rock solid Mechanical Engineering fundamentals

Proficient in CAD (3DX/CATIA experience highly beneficial)

Experience with FEA using Ansys or similar software

Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, sheet metal stamping, die casting, etc

Experience with root cause corrective action processes

Well-developed team-working and interpersonal skills in a cross-functional environment

Preferred:

Experience with automotive engineering

Experience with power electronics

Knowledge of design considerations for high-voltage environments

Education:

BS and/or MS in Mechanical Engineering
