Mechanical Engineer - Intern

Role

The Mechanical Engineer Intern supports the engineering team in improving production processes, increasing efficiency, and ensuring product quality. This role provides hands-on experience with manufacturing operations, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Functions

· Help design, test, and implement tooling, fixtures, or equipment upgrades.

· Create 3D models of machined, welded, and purchased parts using Onshape.

· Create drawings for production and/or purchasing using Onshape.

· Create and Maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) using ERP system.

· Implement design, BOM, or operational changes in accordance with the ECN process.

· Calculate forces, pressures, flow rates, strengths of materials, and/or other characteristics of oil and gas equipment with hand calcs, MS Excel, and/or FEA/CFD analysis.

Qualifications & Requirements

· Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field

· Familiarity with 3D CAD software (e.g., Onshape, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Inventor, Autodesk Fusion, etc.) is required.

· Familiarity with FEA and/or CFD analysis is a plus.

· Basic understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, assembly, fabrication)

· Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

· Microsoft Office products, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.

Skills, Abilities & Work Style

· Hands-on experience through labs, projects, or previous internships.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

· This position requires combination of office and shop-floor settings.

· Eye Exam: Ishihara Color Blindness & FAA Acuity Exam
