Our client is seeking a talented and innovative Mechanical Engineer to join their fully remote product development team. This role is pivotal in the design, development, and testing of new mechanical systems and components. You will be responsible for conceptualizing designs, creating detailed CAD models, performing simulations and analyses, and overseeing the prototyping and manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate possesses a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, proficiency in CAD/CAE software, and a proven track record of bringing innovative products to market. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects, collaborate with a world-class remote engineering team, and drive the next generation of technological advancements. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring product performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and test mechanical components and systems using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor). Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing. Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to validate designs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and industrial designers, in a remote environment. Manage the prototyping process, including material selection, fabrication, and assembly. Conduct root cause analysis on design failures and implement corrective actions. Support the transition of designs from prototype to full-scale production. Ensure designs meet performance, cost, quality, and reliability requirements. Stay abreast of new technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes in mechanical engineering. Contribute to design reviews and provide constructive feedback. Assist in the development of test plans and procedures for product validation.
This is a 100% remote position, requiring strong self-management skills, proactive communication, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a virtual team. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design and product development is required. Proficiency in 3D CAD software and simulation tools is essential. Experience with various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, CNC machining) is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills are critical for success.
