Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Mechanical Engineer / Industrial Engineer in the Smyrna GA area.
What You'll Do
Equipment Performance & Reliability
- Lead troubleshooting efforts on production machinery, driving fast resolution and minimizing downtime
- Evaluate machine performance to identify mechanical issues, process inefficiencies, and operator-related concerns
- Oversee machine setup, testing, and return-to-production readiness
- Coordinate repair activities with mechanics, including disassembly, part replacement, and equipment restoration
Continuous Improvement
- Champion uptime and productivity initiatives across the facility
- Recommend and implement mechanical improvements to enhance equipment efficiency and reliability
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, and system integrations
- Collaborate with Operations and Quality teams to reduce variation and improve production consistency including key metrics like width tolerance
Safety & Facility
- Uphold and enforce safety standards across all equipment and facility systems
- Identify risks and drive engineered safety solutions
- Partner with maintenance teams on facility upkeep to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient environment
Documentation & Vendor Coordination
- Maintain accurate, timely records of maintenance and repair activities
- Coordinate with external vendors on equipment improvements and technical solutions
What You Bring
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
- 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting instincts and a practical, solutions-first mindset
Preferred
- Experience with industrial equipment, fabrication, or automated systems
- Electrical knowledge sensors, controls, and basic troubleshooting
- Background supporting industrial facility maintenance
