Our products are trusted across residential, commercial, and industrial applications for their performance, efficiency, and durability. We are seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Hydronic Product Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Elk Grove Village.

Position Summary

The Hydronic Product Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving hydronic system components and products. This role requires a strong understanding of thermal systems, fluid dynamics, and mechanical design, along with the ability to take products from concept through production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop hydronic heating and cooling products, including heat exchangers, piping systems, manifolds, and control assemblies
  • Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and specifications using CAD software
  • Perform thermal and fluid flow calculations to optimize system performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and supply chain
  • Lead prototype development, testing, and validation efforts
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and product innovation
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations
  • Support production with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain documentation including BOMs, test reports, and design revisions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in product design, preferably in hydronics, HVAC, or thermal systems
  • Strong knowledge of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Experience with simulation tools (CFD/FEA) is a plus
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, and fabrication
  • Understanding of industry standards (ASHRAE, UL, etc.) preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience designing boilers, heat exchangers, or pumping systems
  • Knowledge of hydronic system controls and integration
  • Project management experience
  • Hands-on prototyping and testing experience
