  • Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical layouts and assemblies for MV switchgear and related systems
  • Create and maintain detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using Autodesk Inventor (or similar) and AutoCAD
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical engineering and production teams to ensure seamless integration
  • Provide hands-on factory floor support to troubleshoot and resolve design or assembly challenges
  • Contribute to R&D initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and manufacturing requirements
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and documentation with a high level of ownership
  • Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 2+ years of MV switchgear design experience (required)
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar 3D CAD tools
  • Strong AutoCAD 2D drafting experience
  • Familiarity with PDM systems and ERP-integrated design environments
  • Solid understanding of MV switchgear construction and design principles
  • Working knowledge of IEEE C37 standards and MV UL requirements
  • Experience with metal-clad and/or metal-enclosed switchgear design, including:
  • Busbar systems, breaker compartments, and cable sections
  • Insulation clearances, dielectric spacing, and creepage distances (up to 38kV)
  • Structural design for short-circuit withstand and safety considerations
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset
