Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior MS Engineer to come on board and help restructure and fix issues with Active Directory (on-prem and hybrid being synced with Azure). There are currently a number of issues that need to be fixed (problems with security stack/policy conflicts, Intune and group policies fighting each other, laptops acting differently in and out of the office. The successful consultant will drive these initiatives with the support of the internal team.

The role will initially focus on fixing Active Directory and closing the security gaps within it, using Powershell. Once that is complete, the focus will switch to the correcting of endpoints – Intune policies and process implementation. Finally, the client would like to retire their on-prem Exchange over time.

Required:

7+ years of experience

Deep Microsoft stack expertise: Active Directory (design, cleanup, GPO), Azure AD/Entra ID, and Intune in hybrid environments

Hybrid identity & sync management: Strong experience with Azure AD Connect, SSO, Conditional Access, and resolving on-prem ? cloud sync issues

Policy conflict resolution: Proven ability to fix GPO vs Intune conflicts and standardize endpoint behavior across in-office and remote users

Security remediation focus: AD hardening, access controls, eliminating vulnerabilities, and aligning to modern security best practices (Zero Trust)

Advanced PowerShell skills: Automating remediation, auditing environments, and managing AD at scale

Root cause troubleshooting: Diagnosing inconsistent device behavior, policy issues, and legacy environment challenges
