About The Role We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer with a strong background in machine learning to join our team and contribute to the expansion of Moveworks’ Natural Language Understanding (NLU) and agentic AI capabilities. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing advanced conversational AI features, enhancing user experiences, and scaling our AI platform.

As part of the NLU team, you will work with cutting-edge NLP and NLG tools, including state-of-the-art LLMs, multimodal foundation models, and hybrid vector databases.

Your responsibilities will include fine-tuning models, evaluating their performance, and deploying them in production environments, ensuring high standards of latency, reliability, and accuracy. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design innovative AI solutions, address complex engineering challenges, and push the boundaries of responsible AI development. Your work will directly impact our core objectives of understanding enterprise issues comprehensively and building the most reliable AI copilot for enterprise workflows.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in software engineering with a focus on machine learning and AI systems

• Strong programming skills in Python and/or Golang

• Solid understanding of deep learning architectures, LLMs, and NLP techniques

• Experience with model evaluation, especially for text generation and classification tasks

• Ability to develop, fine-tune, and deploy production-quality ML models

• Familiarity with data quality standards and dataset creation for training and evaluation

• Knowledge of modern ML infrastructure, including vector databases and model serving frameworks

• Experience with responsible AI practices, model safety, and privacy considerations

• Ability to solve complex problems end-to-end, from research to deployment

• High attention to detail and commitment to high-quality, reliable code

• Strong curiosity and desire to stay updated with the latest ML research and open-source developments

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with high ownership

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize natural language understanding and generation models to enhance Moveworks AI platform capabilities

• Implement and evaluate novel algorithms and architectures for conversational AI, multimodal agents, and reasoning strategies

• Fine-tune large language models for specific enterprise use cases, including tool integration and reasoning tasks

• Ensure models perform reliably in production with respect to accuracy, latency, and robustness

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable, responsible, and privacy-preserving AI solutions

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of data collection, annotation, and dataset quality for training and evaluation

• Lead efforts in model safety, red-teaming, and compliance with responsible AI standards

• Research emerging ML techniques and integrate them into product development cycles

• Participate in weekly knowledge sharing, discussions on latest research, and open-source contributions

• Support deployment pipelines and infrastructure for scalable ML model serving
