Portfolio Specialist (Investment/Fund Services)
We are assisting our client, a prestigious private bank, in identifying a highly capable Portfolio Specialist to join their Hong Kong office.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the periodical regulatory and compliance risk assessments & monitoring reports on Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM) business to Compliance Asia, Product Control & Governance
- Weekly updates of portfolio management mandates performance and monthly updates of portfolio management mandates business report (assets flows and account opening status), PM strategies liquidity risk assessment, securities transactions verification on mandates and PB funds to Head of Portfolio Management
- Analysis business data and highlight trends to assist with planning and strategic initiatives
- Monitor and track development of AuM and PM penetration across the region
- Assist to launch new investment products and prepare new business activity proposals
- Work closely with the Senior Business Manager to implement new business initiatives such as system automation by VBA, Python etc
- Assist Senior Business Manager to liaise with relevant departments to clear the trades warmngs during order placing for Portfolio Managers
- Assist to setup Investment Policy statement (IPS) in the internal system (Avaloq), monitor and clear exception reports to ensure the violations s handled immediately and properly once is identified
- Provide support to Business Manager while internal/external auditors on matters related to audits of the teams' internal control
- Ensure investment minutes in Investment Committee Asia (ICA) meeting are fully documented and filed
Qualifications
- Bachelor/Master degree holder with CFA or advanced level academic
- With 8 years of experience in the Private Banking and Fund Management environment in Asia
- Solid experience in this role either within a Fund house or Discretionary PM team is MUST
- Good command of written and spoken English, other languages a plus, including Mandarin, Cantonese etc
- Ownership taking and proactive attitude. Well-organized, detail-oriented and strong team player
- A very high level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially marketing aesthetics
- Knowledge on VBA, Python is highly preferred
- Able to work independently as part of a team under pressure and against tight timelines.
