Job Description

About the Company

Brainsmart Technology is a world-class pioneer in brain–computer interface (BCI) neurotherapeutics. We are on a mission to decode the brain to restore connection and improve lives. Originating from the Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation Centre (ABIC)—a joint initiative between the University of Hong Kong (HKU) and Harvard University under Hong Kong’s InnoHK program—we are developing the next generation of minimally invasive neural interfaces. Our flagship Minimally Invasive μ-ECoG™ System enables high-density, large-area brain signal decoding without craniotomy. This flexible, epidural, and MRI-compatible technology holds transformative potential for epilepsy surgery, stroke rehabilitation, speech decoding, and tumor treating fields (TTF). With successful large-animal validations and an ongoing FDA Q-Sub process, we are expanding aggressively into the U.S. market. This is a rare opportunity to join a well-funded, fast-scaling international startup at the ground floor of its global expansion.

Headquarters: Hong Kong | Manufacturing: Shenzhen | R&D & AI: Hong Kong & U.S. | Clinical: China & U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage U.S. clinical research partnerships in epilepsy, stroke, and motor/speech rehabilitation.
  • Lead neural signal decoding studies using high-gamma (70–200 Hz) μ-ECoG, and neural spike data.
  • Collaborate with the AI team to train disease-specific and patient-specific neural models.
  • Design protocols for first-in-human studies and coordinate with CROs and IRBs.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D./M.D. in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, or Neurophysiology.
  • Strong background in ECoG, EEG, or invasive electrophysiology.
