Operational Risk Head

A leading financial institution seeks a Operational Risk Head in Hong Kong to lead risk frameworks, guide senior management, and drive operational resilience.

Key responsibilities:

As Operational Risk Head, you will lead risk frameworks, advise business units, and ensure operational and climate risk resilience.

• Establish and lead robust operational and climate risk frameworks, ensuring effective risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and control
• Oversee risk-related activities, including incident management, periodic stress testing, and ongoing risk reviews
• Provide advisory support to business units on operational and climate risk matters
• Ensure regulatory-compliant contingency plans and operational resilience, including BCP and OR-2 implementation, testing, drills, and event management
• Advise senior management and the Board, delivering clear, actionable insights and reporting on risk matters

Candidate profile:

To excel in this role, you bring extensive banking risk experience, strong communication in English and Chinese, and proven expertise in risk management, reporting, and team leadership.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with a strong academic foundation
• Minimum 10 years in risk management, including at least 3 years in a managerial role
• Solid understanding of banking operations and market-standard risk control practices
• Strong investigative and problem-solving skills, with extensive experience in regulatory interactions
• Professional certifications (FRM, CFA, or holder of ECF ORM/CRM/GSF/Compliance certification) is an advantage
• Proficiency in English and Chinese (including Putonghua) both written and spoken
