Now Hiring: Operational Risk Specialist
As an Operational Risk Specialist, you’ll work under the leadership of the AVP – Compliance to preform functions related to application security administration, third-party vendor risk management, record retention and destruction, business continuity planning, and other operational risk management functions as assigned. May assist Physical Security Supervisor in assigning building access control devices and procuring security photos or videos for incidents or fraud cases.
Essential Functions And Responsiblities
- Administers employee access to select business applications, ensuring roles and privileges apply to business needs and are well-documented to meet internal audit requirements.
- Performs due diligence on third-party service providers to evaluate the data security controls in place to protect sensitive data.
- Utilizes risk assessment software programs to identify and assign risk ratings to vendors, technology systems, member information records, and transaction processes
- Performs business application security reviews to validate user status and data security controls in accordance with defined standard
- Administers the third-party contract management software program.
- Develops and maintains operational risk management procedures.
- Performs tasks related to record retention.
- Administers Visa card stock, balancing and maintaining
- Participates in projects involving the onboarding or modification of a business application or service partner and may assist in business continuity planning and testing
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Experience
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Two years of banking, security, or information technology experience is required
Education
- Associate’s degree required or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Interpersonal Skills
- Builds relationships and fosters positive interactions with Credit Union team members, members, and vendors by demonstrating friendly, helpful, and efficient service. Good written and verbal communication skills, patience, active listening, and sound judgment are required. This position requires a high degree of confidentiality.
Other Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, business applications, and learning the core system and other related software are required. Must have the ability to apply cognitive reasoning to daily tasks, take ownership, and work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Must be highly motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and skillful with time management. Efficient with multitasking, problem-solving, and practical application.
