People & Risk Process, Data and Reporting Analyst

We are seeking a talented individual to join our People & Risk Process, Data & Reporting team at Mercer (a Marsh business). This role will be based in Sydney or Melbourne. This is a hybrid role that requires working at least three days a week in the office and is initially a 12‑month contract (full‑time).

Role overview

This role partners with HR, Risk, Reward, Finance, Technology and Data teams to design repeatable processes and controls that extract, transform, validate and report on people and risk data. You will deliver reconciled datasets, maintain data lineage and quality controls, and turn HR and risk information (risk surveys, performance, reward, KRIs) into timely executive reporting and insights.

Core requirements

  • Hands‑on Workday reporting.
  • Ability to combine Workday and GRC/risk data.
  • Reporting/analytics for risk culture surveys and executive scorecards.

We will count on you to:

  • Design, document and maintain end‑to‑end processes for extracting, transforming and loading HR and risk data into reporting environments.
  • Combine data from Workday and GRC/risk systems to produce reconciled datasets and executive scorecards.
  • Develop dashboards and analysis for risk culture surveys, performance, reward and KRIs to inform senior decision‑making.
  • Build and run data quality checks (completeness, accuracy, timeliness) and resolve issues with source system owners.
  • Maintain auditable data lineage, transformation logs and controls in line with governance and privacy requirements.
  • Identify and deliver automation opportunities to improve efficiency (feeds, templates, validations) and project‑manage the annual risk culture survey.

What you need to have:

  • Hands‑on Workday reporting experience and proven ability to extract and manipulate Workday datasets.
  • Experience combining HRIS and GRC/risk data sources and producing reconciled outputs for reporting.
  • Strong technical skills in data manipulation and visualization (Excel, SQL and/or BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau).
  • 2–5+ years in data, reporting, business analyst or HR/risk analytics roles with a sound understanding of data privacy and sensitive employee data handling.
