Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking an exceptionally skilled and results-oriented Plant Manager to lead our industrial operations in the vibrant Mount Pleasant area of Toronto. This pivotal role calls for a visionary leader with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, a passion for operational excellence, and an unwavering commitment to safety and quality. As the Plant Manager, you will be the driving force behind our production success, overseeing all aspects of daily plant operations, from raw material intake to finished product dispatch.

Your primary mission will be to optimize efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness while maintaining the highest standards of product quality and workplace safety. You will be instrumental in developing and executing strategic plans that align with the company’s overall business objectives, identifying opportunities for process improvements, and implementing cutting-edge industrial practices. This involves leveraging your expertise in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to foster a culture of continuous improvement across all levels of the plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all daily plant operations, ensuring efficient and high-quality production.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor strategic plans to optimize production efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of production staff, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Manage the plant's operational budget, capital expenditures, and resource allocation to achieve financial targets.
  • Implement and champion Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other best practices to drive process optimization.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for production output, product quality, and operational costs, taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional departments including engineering, supply chain, quality assurance, and sales.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement new technologies and process improvements to enhance plant capabilities and competitiveness.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews for direct reports and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Oversee maintenance schedules and ensure optimal functionality of all plant machinery and equipment.
  • Lead initiatives related to inventory management and waste reduction.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in plant management or a senior operations leadership role within an industrial manufacturing environment.
