Digital Division’s IT Group (ITG) supports the IT needs for DSO’s enterprise and R&D functions. ITG oversees the development and operations of core IT infrastructure, enterprise networks, and enterprise applications.
Platform & Automation Engineer
In this role, you will:
Platform Engineering
- Operate and maintain Kubernetes-based platform to provide reusable/shared platform services (e.g. ingress controllers, logging, secrets management).
- Responsible for the full platform lifecycle management, including routine security upgrades, patching and monitoring.
- Manage and optimize core Kubernetes components (e.g. API server, node pool configurations) to ensure operational efficiency.
- Ensure platform stability, scalability and compliance through proactive maintenance and capacity planning.
- Be familiar with underlying compute, storage, backup and virtualization components that supports the Kubernetes environment (e.g. HCI, hypervisor, networking, storage, backup).
Automation
- Operate and maintain automation infrastructure (e.g. Ansible control nodes) including routine security upgrades, patching and monitoring.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, patching, backups using Ansible.
- Design and build reusable, modular automation artifacts (e.g. playbooks) to ensure consistency and standardization in provisioning across different environments/networks.
- Build automation workflows to reduce manual operations and improve system reliability.
DevOps
- Operate and maintain pipelines consisting of GitOps components integrating with Kubernetes-based platform.
- Responsible for GitOps tooling and workflows, including tools such as ArgoCD and GitLab (code repositories and image registries).
- Responsible for day 2 operations including routine security upgrades, patching and monitoring of all pipeline components.
Reliability & Operations
- Ensure high availability, resilience, disaster recovery, and lifecycle management of on prem platforms.
- Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, and root cause analysis for reliability improvements.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for infrastructure and platform components.
- Drive best practices for observability, automation, and incident reduction.
Networking, Security & Governance
- Collaborate with network and security teams on load balancing, firewalls, certificates, DNS, IP addressing, and routing.
- Manage secrets, credentials, RBAC, and compliance enforcement within automation and platform tooling.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
- Degree or Master in Computer & Information Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Information Systems.
Technical Skills and Experience
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Container technologies.
- Hands on experience with CI/CD platforms for on prem pipelines.
- Proficiency with automation tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Experience with on premise data center infrastructure, virtualization platforms, and server OS (Linux/Windows).
- Good understanding of networking concepts (VLANs, routing, load balancing, firewalls, certificates).
- Ability to troubleshoot across compute, storage, network, OS, and application layers.
Soft Skills
