Overview

The Portfolio & Investment Performance Operations role is responsible for establishing financial practices and decision making on complex issues affecting the recordkeeping for trusts, annuities, and pooled income funds. This position translates financial standards into controls that meet compliance requirements, has budget and performance accountability, guides custodians, vendors, and other financial partners in assuring bookkeeping and accounting accuracy, and examines complex, non-cash client assets to determine how to characterize the financial assets and assess impact. The position is primarily responsible for the portfolio accounting and performance calculation functions for the firm's investment advisory service and provides technical and operational oversight to investment reporting functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages the measurement and performance reporting needs for individual portfolios and groups. Manages the construction, membership, calculation and performance reporting for all composites. Responsible for the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) verification process and adherence with regulatory standards (i.e. SEC).
  • Manages vendor and custodial relationships including cloud hosting support, ongoing operations and reporting outsourced services, and application upgrades and enhancements. Monitors and manages performance of vendors through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal review process to ensure delivery of business requirements. Documents and establishes business processes and controls for ongoing integration with the business.
  • Owns the firm’s portfolio management (APX) software solution including all related policies, standards, controls, compliance and audit requirements, business processes, data maintenance and governance, system integrations, and external departmental requests.
  • Designs and implements the strategies, processes, and tools for executing accounting operations and supporting the report creation process. Implements and enhances operational and financial controls, policies, and procedures that improve the overall productivity and effectiveness of the operation and reduce risk.
  • Drives development and enhancement of operations and accounting systems and supporting applications. Collaborates with IT in guiding systems acquisition and development.
  • Partners with client and reporting teams in optimizing interdepartmental processes and resolving issues to meet client performance and accounting and investment report deliverables.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Investment performance reporting
  • Hands-on experience with APX portfolio management software

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Investment performance reporting
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Familiarity with Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) and SEC regulatory requirements
  • Ability to manage vendor and custodial relationships
  • Understanding of system architecture, integrations, and automation workflows
  • Experience with gift administration and ability to assess complex, non-cash assets
  • Experience collaborating with IT on systems acquisitions and development
  • Prior experience in an investment advisory or wealth management environment

Anticipated Posting End Date

Base Pay Range: $130,000/yr - $180,000/yr

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
