The Role
We are seeking an Associate to work within the global discretionary Portfolio Management team, based in London office. The team focuses on aggregating and managing global real estate portfolios to meet specific client objectives. This role is responsible for supporting the wider portfolio management team in several different areas, including portfolio construction, ongoing asset management, portfolio modelling and analytics, market research, investment due diligence and making investment recommendations for discretionary client portfolios.
Specific tasks include the following:
•Providing analytical support to portfolio managers for client strategy development and efficient portfolio planning
•Assisting the portfolio managers in evaluating and executing on new investments
•Operating and refining various portfolio models and analytical tools
•Monitoring portfolio activity and the performance of existing investments
•Conducting performance measurement and attribution analysis for client portfolios
•Assisting in the production of client valuation, cash flow and currency exposure reports
•Assisting in the drafting of client quarterly performance reports
•Responding to ad-hoc requests from clients and underlying managers
Qualifications & Qualities The ideal candidate will have some or all of the following qualifications, expertise and interests:
•Bachelor's or Master's degree in real estate, investment management, finance or a related field
•2-5 years of work experience in a related or relevant field
•A strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
•Demonstrable interest in real estate and the broader real assets investment class
•Detail orientated with excellent analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
•Self-starter, capable of working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple workstreams simultaneously
•Superior written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-orientated environment
