We are seeking a Portfolio Manager - Operations to support the administration of insurance and reinsurance accounts and contracts within a fast-paced environment. This is a 6-month contract opportunity based in Toronto, focused on managing contractual data, processing accounts and claims, supporting underwriting activities, and ensuring accurate financial and operational execution across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and update contractual data within accounting and underwriting systems
Accurately enter and validate Terms & Conditions (T&Cs) and flag discrepancies
Process accounts, claim advice, and resolve discrepancies with stakeholders
Manage cash flow activities including payments, balances, and account setup
Perform internal control checks (ICS) and support compliance requirements
Monitor account performance and generate reports and data analysis
Ensure proper documentation and record management within internal systems
Collaborate with underwriters, brokers, and internal teams on daily operations
Support audit requirements and maintain compliance with regulatory standards
Must-Have Requirements
Experience in insurance/reinsurance accounting, underwriting support, or controlling
Strong Excel skills (including Power Query)
Solid understanding of financial processes, accounts, and cash flow management
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
Nice-to-Have
Experience with Business Objects, Power BI, or Tableau
Exposure to insurance/reinsurance systems and processes
Knowledge of compliance, sanctions, or regulatory requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (preferably in business, finance, or insurance-related field).
