Job Description

Apella Wealth is expanding its portfolio operations and trading execution team and is seeking a Portfolio Operations Analyst to support the day‑to‑day execution, accuracy, and operational integrity of client investment portfolios. This role ensures trades are executed correctly, portfolios remain aligned with firm models, cash movements are processed accurately, and advisors are supported through precise operational execution.

This is a HYBRID (3/days/week on-site) position, in Wyomissing, PA.

The Role: Portfolio Operations & Trading Execution

As a Portfolio Operations Analyst, you will play a key role in executing model‑based portfolio changes and managing daily trading operations across multiple advisors and offices. You will partner closely with advisors and internal teams to ensure portfolios are implemented accurately, cash flows are handled properly, and operational workflows run smoothly. This role focuses on execution and operational support, not investment research or client prospecting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute daily model portfolio trades across multiple advisors using portfolio management and trading systems
  • Implement account rebalances and portfolio adjustments in accordance with firm models
  • Monitor cash flows, invest deposits, and create liquidity as required
  • Process and oversee cash movements, including contributions, distributions, and transfers
  • Ensure trades, positions, and cash activity are accurately reflected and reconciled
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve trade breaks, cash discrepancies, and operational exceptions
  • Support advisors with day‑to‑day portfolio operations, not sales or client acquisition
  • Maintain organized records and documentation in accordance with compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with operational projects, system enhancements, and process improvements as assigned

What You Bring to the Table

  • 2+ years of experience in investment operations, portfolio operations, or trading support, OR equivalent experience in a wealth management or asset management environment
  • Working knowledge of ETFs, mutual funds, and portfolio trading mechanics
  • Understanding of tax‑aware trading concepts and portfolio rebalancing
  • Ability to manage high‑volume, detail‑oriented workflows with consistency and precision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; comfort learning portfolio management and trading platforms
  • FINRA Series 65 preferred (or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • Strong organizational, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills
  • Clear communicator who collaborates well with advisors and internal teams

💰 COMPENSATION: $70,000 – $77,000; based on experience. This role is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
