Strategic Portfolio Manager,

Job Summary/Main Purpose

As a member of the Portfolio Strategy team, the Portfolio Manager is responsible for the strategic direction and optimization of Julphar's product portfolio, ensuring alignment with long‑term organizational goals and market trends.

Working closely with the portfolio managers in the commercial team along with other stakeholders in identifying strategic growth opportunities and driving high‑impact pipeline products and initiatives.

Strategic Portfolio Leadership

Develop and implement comprehensive long‑term portfolio plans, aligning them with overall business objectives.

Ensure the portfolio is strategically positioned for future growth and success, anticipating market shifts and progressing opportunities.

Proactively adjust the portfolio based on in‑depth market trends and performance insights.

Develop country specific product portfolio strategies.

Evaluate and define strategies for portfolio tail end.

Secure brand lifecycle management for key strategic products within critical disease areas, collaborating closely with the commercial team to maximize their strategic value.

Lead and coordinate with cross‑functional teams to execute critical, portfolio‑related projects that drive strategic objectives.

Strategic Market Analysis & Insights

Conduct advanced market analysis to identify and capitalize on significant opportunities for portfolio expansion and diversification on global, regional and country specific level.

Analyse competitor activities and broader market trends to drive critical, high‑level portfolio decisions and strategic pivots.

Provide insights and strategic recommendations derived from comprehensive market research, guidelines and trends.

Executive Stakeholder Collaboration, Project Management & Alignment

Manage specific strategic projects and high‑impact initiatives within the portfolio, ensuring their timely completion to achieve strategic goals.

Collaborate extensively with internal stakeholders to ensure deep alignment on portfolio strategy and its execution across the organization.

Communicate strategic portfolio updates and key performance metrics to relevant executive teams, ensuring transparency and shared understanding.

Proactively address stakeholder concerns and ensure their strategic needs are met, fostering strong collaborative relationships.

Strategic Performance & Growth Trajectory

Track the performance of portfolio products against pre‑agreed strategic Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), focusing on long‑term Objectives and value creation.

Provide regular, insightful performance reports to senior management, highlighting strategic implications and future opportunities.

Identify strategic areas for improvement to optimize portfolio performance and market positioning.

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills & Attributes)

Education

Bachelor's degree in medicine, Pharmacy, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 7 years in strategic pharma portfolio management or related strategic roles, with a proven track record of driving portfolio growth and strategic initiatives.

Knowledge and experience with biologics and biosimilar portfolio and specialty and rare diseases will be a plus.

Knowledge

Profound understanding of pharmaceutical market dynamics, emerging disease and therapy trends, and strategic foresight.

In‑depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and advanced market access strategies of the MENA markets.

Familiarity with strategic project management principles and best practices.

Skills

Strong analytical and strategic problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable portfolio strategies.

Superior communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders and leading cross‑functional teams.

Demonstrated ability to strategically manage multiple complex projects and competing priorities simultaneously.

High proficiency in advanced data analysis and strategic market research methodologies.
