Principal Advanced Analytics

This Principal Advanced Analytics role is ideal for a hands-on analytics leader who thrives in ambiguity, moves quickly from question to insight, and influences through strong communication. The right candidate brings deep technical skills, strong business judgment, intellectual curiosity, and a track record of delivering recommendations.
You will define the analytics engine behind our market intelligence and go-to-market scaling strategy, owning the vision for decision making and action in how we go to market. You’ll design and socialize sophisticated measurement systems that translate complex data into clear insights and sharp executive-level recommendations with clear decisioning. Your work will directly inform how we invest, grow, and win.
This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to senior leadership. Beyond rigorous analysis, you’ll be expected to contextualize results and deliver clear, compelling narratives that help drive the business forward with confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own analytics for market intelligence and go-to-market initiatives, including performance measurement, success metrics, benchmarking, and insight generation.
- Lead analysis for market playbooks, combining performance, competitiveness, network, distribution, pricing, and brand data into clear recommendations.
- Analyze market-level performance and characteristics to identify scalable growth opportunities across products, channels, and footprints.
- Build and enhance dashboards, scorecards, and reporting frameworks that give leaders clear visibility into initiative performance and business impact.
- Translate complex data into concise, executive-ready narratives that connect profitability, operational KPIs, and marketing performance to action.
- Partner cross-functionally with Technology, Strategy, Finance, Marketing, Research, Distribution, and others to ensure analytics reflect business priorities and real-world execution.
- Own data quality, reporting consistency, and pipeline integrity across recurring performance reviews, business cases, and leadership updates.
- Apply AI-enabled analytics, LLMs, and automation workflows to accelerate insight generation, improve decision support, and scale repeatable analytics processes.
- Use large, complex data sets to evaluate performance, optimize investment and resource allocation, and inform execution decisions.
Qualifications:
- 8-12 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data science, strategy analytics, or FP&A; experience supporting go-to-market, marketing, or commercial functions is strongly preferred.
- Advanced expertise in Power BI, SQL, advanced Excel, and modern data platforms such as Databricks or Snowflake; experience building and owning data pipelines is required.
- Required experience applying AI-enabled analytics, LLMs, automation, or agentic workflows to solve business problems, accelerate analysis, and improve decision-making.
- Proven success owning analytics for multi-market, geographically dispersed, or complex commercial programs.
- Strong ability to synthesize profitability metrics, operational KPIs, customer or market trends, and marketing performance into clear recommendations.
- Experience building scalable dashboards, reporting frameworks, measurement systems, and executive-level business reviews.
- BA/BS in analytics, data science, business, economics, engineering, finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Familiarity with telecom, network, consumer, or subscription-based businesses is a plus.
- Strong collaboration, communication, project management, and leadership skills, with the ability to move quickly in a dynamic, ambiguous environment.
Our Principal, Advanced Analytics earns between $158,200 - $237,400 USD Annual. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
