Job Description

Our client, a groundbreaking AI research lab, is looking for a visionary Principal AI Research Scientist to lead innovative projects in **Phoenix, Arizona, US**. This is a unique opportunity to push the boundaries of artificial intelligence and develop next-generation AI solutions that will shape the future. You will work with a world-class team of researchers and engineers, tackling some of the most challenging problems in AI.

Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and implementation of novel AI algorithms and models across various domains, including machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision. Conduct cutting-edge research, publish findings in top-tier academic conferences and journals, and contribute to the intellectual property portfolio. Collaborate with product teams to translate research breakthroughs into practical applications and features. Mentor and guide junior research scientists and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence. Define research roadmaps and identify strategic areas for future AI development. Evaluate and benchmark new AI technologies and methodologies. Present research findings and project updates to internal stakeholders and external audiences. Contribute to the overall scientific strategy and vision of the research group. Build and maintain strong relationships with academic institutions and industry partners. Qualifications: PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a closely related field. 10+ years of research experience in AI, with a proven track record of significant contributions and publications in leading conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, ACL). Deep expertise in at least one core AI area (e.g., deep learning, reinforcement learning, NLP, computer vision) and broad knowledge across multiple AI disciplines. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with major deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch). Strong understanding of algorithmic design, data structures, and software engineering principles. Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a passion for tackling complex, open-ended research challenges. Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills. Ability to mentor and inspire a team of researchers. Experience leading research projects from conception to implementation.
