Our client, a pioneering leader in AI and machine learning, is looking for an exceptional Principal AI Research Scientist to join their innovative R&D team in Seattle, Washington, US . Responsibilities:

Lead and conduct high-impact research in areas such as deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, reinforcement learning, or related AI fields. Design, implement, and evaluate novel AI algorithms and models. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate research breakthroughs into practical applications and product features. Publish research findings in top-tier academic conferences and journals. Mentor junior researchers and contribute to the growth of the AI research community within the organization. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI and machine learning, identifying emerging trends and opportunities for innovation. Develop and maintain research infrastructure, including experimental setups and data pipelines. Present research progress and results to technical and non-technical audiences. Contribute to the strategic direction of the AI research roadmap. Ensure ethical considerations and responsible AI practices are integrated into research and development.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. or equivalent research experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a closely related field. 5+ years of post-doctoral or industry research experience in AI/ML. Demonstrated track record of significant contributions to the AI research community, evidenced by publications, patents, or open-source contributions. Expertise in one or more core AI areas (e.g., deep learning, NLP, CV, RL) and proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., Python) and ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch). Strong understanding of theoretical foundations of machine learning and statistical methods. Experience with large-scale data processing and distributed computing is a plus. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts. Proven ability to lead research projects and collaborate effectively in a team environment. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for AI workloads is beneficial.
