Principal Applied Scientist

A company is looking for a Principal Applied Scientist. Key Responsibilities Lead the development and maintenance of advanced statistical and machine learning models for financial forecasting, risk scoring, and anomaly detection Collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage data for financial insights and communicate complex AI/ML concepts to senior leadership Research and prototype new AI/ML methodologies to address complex financial challenges and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks Required Qualifications Ph.D. or M.S. in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Financial Engineering, or related STEM fields 8+ years of experience in applied machine learning and predictive modeling, preferably in finance or healthcare Proven expertise in financial forecasting, risk modeling, and large-scale data analysis Strong proficiency in Python and machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) Experience with big-data technologies and scalable model deployment in cloud environments
