Our client, a leading innovator in the chemical manufacturing sector, is seeking a highly accomplished Principal Chemical Process Engineer to join their advanced research and development team. This critical role, based in Miami, Florida, US , will involve optimizing existing chemical processes and developing novel solutions for new product lines. The position operates on a hybrid work model, combining essential on-site laboratory and pilot plant work with remote analysis and documentation. You will be instrumental in driving process improvements, enhancing efficiency, ensuring safety compliance, and reducing environmental impact across various manufacturing operations. This includes conceptualizing, designing, and implementing new process technologies, as well as troubleshooting complex operational issues. The Principal Chemical Process Engineer will also play a key role in mentoring junior engineers, contributing to intellectual property development, and collaborating with cross-functional teams including R&D, operations, and quality assurance.

Responsibilities encompass: leading process design and scale-up activities; conducting detailed process simulations and modeling using industry-standard software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS); performing economic evaluations and feasibility studies for new process technologies; developing process safety documentation (e.g., HAZOP studies); ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations; staying abreast of the latest technological advancements and industry best practices in chemical engineering; and preparing technical reports and presentations for management and stakeholders. The successful candidate must hold a Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, with a minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in process development, optimization, and scale-up within the chemical or petrochemical industry. Demonstrated expertise in reaction engineering, separation processes, and process control is essential. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills are required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective collaboration and leadership.
