Our client, a leader in innovative technology solutions, is looking for a highly experienced Principal Electrical Engineer with a specialization in Power Systems to join their advanced R&D team in Atlanta, Georgia, US . This senior-level position requires deep technical expertise in the design, analysis, and implementation of complex power distribution and management systems for cutting-edge electronic products. You will lead critical projects, mentor engineers, and drive technological advancements in power electronics and system integration.
Responsibilities include leading the design and development of high-performance power supply units (PSUs), voltage regulators, and power distribution networks; performing detailed electrical simulations and analysis (e.g., transient analysis, thermal analysis, EMI/EMC) to ensure system stability, efficiency, and reliability; defining system-level power requirements and architectures for new product development; developing and implementing robust testing and validation procedures for power systems; troubleshooting complex power-related issues from component level to system integration; collaborating closely with mechanical, firmware, and software engineering teams to ensure seamless product development; staying abreast of the latest trends and technologies in power electronics, battery management, and grid integration; contributing to the development of intellectual property and technical publications; and mentoring junior electrical engineers, providing technical guidance and leadership.
The ideal candidate will hold a Master's or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Electronics or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering, with a significant focus on power system design and analysis, is required. Proven experience with microcontrollers, digital signal processors (DSPs), and advanced power conversion topologies is essential. Expertise in simulation tools such as SPICE, ANSYS HFSS, or similar is mandatory. Strong understanding of EMI/EMC principles and mitigation techniques, as well as experience with battery management systems (BMS), is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and a demonstrated capacity for technical leadership are critical for this role.
