Our client, a leader in advanced technology solutions, is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Principal Electrical Engineer specializing in Power Systems to join their innovative engineering team in Phoenix, Arizona, US . This senior role will play a pivotal part in designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge power systems for a wide range of complex projects. The Principal Electrical Engineer will lead critical engineering initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and contribute significantly to the company's technological advancements. Responsibilities include conceptualizing and designing robust power distribution systems, analyzing power flow and stability, developing protection schemes, and ensuring system reliability and efficiency. You will be responsible for leading the technical direction of projects, performing detailed calculations, creating electrical schematics and single-line diagrams, and overseeing the selection of electrical components and equipment. This role requires a deep understanding of power generation, transmission, and distribution principles, as well as familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes (e.g., NEC, IEEE). The ideal candidate will possess exceptional problem-solving skills, a strong analytical mindset, and the ability to tackle challenging engineering problems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of power systems into larger projects. We are looking for a self-motivated and technically proficient engineer with excellent leadership and communication skills. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution is required. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with a significant focus on power systems design and analysis, is essential. Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable. Expertise in power system simulation software (e.g., ETAP, PSS/E) and CAD software is expected.
