Principal Electrical Engineer/Technical Lead

A well‑established medical device organization in Irvine is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer / Technical Lead to support sustaining engineering efforts and cross‑functional technical projects. This is a hands‑on, high‑visibility role within a mature, documentation‑driven environment.

We are looking for a strong technical leader who can work independently, contribute directly to engineering activities, and guide small project teams with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Lead sustaining engineering activities across existing product lines.
• Serve as a technical lead on small, cross‑functional engineering projects.
• Perform hands-on engineering, troubleshooting, testing, and design updates.
• Operate effectively within a mature QMS with comprehensive documentation requirements.
• Partner with other engineers, technicians, and leadership to drive technical outcomes.
• Work onsite in Irvine 5 days per week.

Required Qualifications

• Proven project leadership or technical lead experience.
• Strong hands-on electrical engineering background.
• Experience working in a medium‑to‑large, documentation-heavy medical device environment.

Technical Strengths

• Knowledge of sensors, motors, valves, pumps, and electromechanical components.
• Competency in basic electrical design, circuit fundamentals, and troubleshooting.
