Position Summary
Independently develop electrical power and automation design in compliance with class rules and technical specifications, ensuring delivery within assigned project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, review, and integration of marine electrical power systems, automation systems, and navigation/communication systems for assigned projects.
- Perform and review technical studies including short-circuit analysis, harmonic analysis, discrimination studies, protection coordination, and FMEA.
- Develop and review key engineering deliverables such as:Single line diagrams (SLDs)Control system topologiesLoad analysis and load balancing reportsVoltage drop calculationsLux (illumination) calculationsTechnical specifications for equipment procurement aligned with project requirements and classification society rules
- Prepare detailed design documentation including schematics, layout drawings, cable routing plans, and termination drawings.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with applicable marine regulations, standards, and project requirements.
Experience & Educational Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in marine/offshore electrical engineering design.
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Electronics/Marine Engineering or related discipline.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of marine power systems, automation systems, and navigation systems
- Familiarity with classification rules and international standards (IEC / IEEE / NEC)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and AVEVA tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
