Our client, a global leader in advanced manufacturing solutions, is seeking a highly experienced Principal Industrial Engineer to join their innovative team in the heart of **New York City, New York, US**. This is a critical on-site role that demands hands-on expertise in optimizing complex production systems and driving operational excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing efficient manufacturing processes, improving productivity, and reducing costs.

As a Principal Industrial Engineer, you will apply advanced engineering principles to analyze existing operations, identify bottlenecks, and propose data-driven solutions. Your expertise in lean manufacturing, six sigma, and simulation modeling will be essential in redesigning workflows, improving facility layouts, and enhancing overall system performance. You will lead cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and serve as a subject matter expert on industrial engineering best practices. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical foundation and the ability to translate complex analyses into actionable improvements.

Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and optimization of manufacturing processes and production systems. Conduct detailed analysis of operational data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost. Develop and implement lean manufacturing and six sigma initiatives. Utilize simulation software to model and test process changes before implementation. Design and improve facility layouts and material flow to maximize productivity. Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. Lead and mentor teams of engineers and technicians in project execution. Collaborate with R&D, operations, and quality assurance teams to integrate new products and processes. Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational efficiency. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices in industrial engineering. Qualifications: Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on manufacturing environments. Proven expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt preferred), and process improvement methodologies. Proficiency in simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic) and CAD tools. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong leadership and project management capabilities. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. Experience in leading cross-functional teams and mentoring junior staff. Demonstrated ability to drive significant operational improvements.
