Our client, a manufacturing leader in Dallas, Texas, is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Principal Industrial Engineer to drive process optimization and efficiency improvements across their operations. This is a critical on-site role, requiring deep expertise in industrial engineering principles and methodologies. You will be responsible for analyzing current manufacturing processes, identifying bottlenecks, and designing and implementing solutions to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality. This includes developing optimal facility layouts, material flow strategies, and production scheduling systems. Your work will involve leveraging data analysis, simulation modeling, and lean manufacturing techniques to achieve significant operational gains. You will collaborate closely with production teams, management, and cross-functional departments to ensure successful implementation of engineered solutions. Responsibilities include:
Leading the design and implementation of new manufacturing processes and systems. Analyzing production data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost, and quality. Developing and utilizing simulation models to evaluate process changes and predict outcomes. Optimizing facility layouts, workflows, and material handling systems. Implementing lean manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping). Developing and maintaining production standards and performance metrics. Mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance. Collaborating with R&D and design teams on new product introductions to ensure manufacturability. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, preferably within a complex manufacturing environment. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable. Proven experience in process optimization, statistical analysis, simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic), and lean/six sigma methodologies is essential. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills are required.
