Our client is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Principal Industrial Engineer to lead significant process optimization initiatives at their facilities near Austin, Texas, US . This senior role demands a strategic thinker with a proven track record in transforming complex operational environments through advanced industrial engineering principles. You will be responsible for identifying systemic inefficiencies, developing innovative solutions, and implementing large-scale changes that drive substantial improvements in productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, simulation modeling, and project management, coupled with exceptional leadership and analytical skills. Responsibilities:

Lead the development and execution of comprehensive industrial engineering strategies focused on process optimization and operational excellence. Conduct in-depth analyses of existing manufacturing and supply chain processes to identify key areas for improvement, including workflow, resource allocation, and layout optimization. Design, develop, and implement innovative solutions using advanced simulation, modeling, and data analysis techniques. Champion Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies, leading improvement projects and driving cultural change across the organization. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics to monitor progress and ensure sustained improvements. Manage large-scale industrial engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery. Collaborate with senior management, engineering teams, and operational staff to align initiatives with business objectives. Provide expert technical guidance, mentorship, and training to engineering teams and operational personnel. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and automation solutions to enhance process efficiency and product quality. Ensure all implemented processes adhere to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Ph.D. preferred. 10+ years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with a significant focus on process optimization and operations management in a manufacturing environment. Expert-level knowledge and application of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Black Belt certification required), Theory of Constraints, and other continuous improvement methodologies. Advanced proficiency in simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic, Simio) and data analysis tools. Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional projects with measurable business impact. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Outstanding leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities. Proven ability to influence change and drive results in a complex organizational structure. Experience with supply chain management and logistics optimization is a plus. Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
