Our client, a renowned leader in advanced manufacturing and industrial process optimization, is seeking a highly accomplished Principal Industrial Process Engineer to join their cutting-edge facility in **Boston, Massachusetts, US**. This critical role demands extensive expertise in analyzing, designing, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety across manufacturing operations. You will be responsible for tackling complex engineering challenges, leading cross-functional teams, and driving innovation in process design and automation. Your deep understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, statistical process control, and advanced simulation techniques will be paramount.

Responsibilities:

Lead the analysis and optimization of complex industrial manufacturing processes to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. Design and implement new manufacturing processes and workflows, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies. Develop and manage process simulation models to predict performance, identify bottlenecks, and test improvement strategies. Champion the application of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Conduct root cause analyses for process deviations and implement corrective actions. Oversee the integration of automation and advanced manufacturing technologies into existing and new processes. Develop and maintain process documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training materials. Mentor and guide junior process engineers, providing technical leadership and support. Collaborate closely with R&D, operations, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless process implementation and operation. Stay abreast of emerging industrial engineering technologies, best practices, and industry trends. Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and timelines for process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude, combined with exceptional leadership and communication skills. A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is required, with a Master's degree or PhD strongly preferred. Extensive experience in process design, optimization, and implementation within a manufacturing environment is essential. Professional certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Black Belt are highly desirable. This role requires a proactive, results-oriented individual who can influence change and drive significant improvements in operational performance. The ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously is crucial for success in this demanding position.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; Master's or PhD preferred. Minimum of 12 years of experience in industrial process engineering and optimization. Proven expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred), and statistical process control. Strong experience with process simulation software (e.g., Arena, FlexSim). Demonstrated success in leading complex process improvement projects. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience in manufacturing environments, preferably in high-tech industries.
