Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and integration of automated manufacturing systems, including robotic cells, conveyor systems, and automated assembly lines. Develop and implement PLC control logic for new and existing automated equipment. Define automation strategies and roadmaps to achieve production efficiency, quality, and cost reduction goals. Specify, select, and procure automation equipment and components. Oversee the installation, commissioning, and validation of new automated equipment and processes. Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation-related issues on the production floor, minimizing downtime. Conduct process analyses, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements using data-driven approaches. Develop and maintain detailed documentation for automated systems, including P&IDs, electrical schematics, and operating procedures. Mentor and guide junior manufacturing and automation engineers, fostering technical growth within the team. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, product design, operations, and maintenance, to ensure seamless integration of automated solutions. Stay abreast of emerging automation technologies and industry best practices, evaluating their potential application. Manage automation project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively. Ensure all automation solutions comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements. Qualifications:
Master's or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field is preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 7 years specifically focused on industrial automation. Extensive experience with industrial robotics (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB) and PLC programming (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens). Proficiency in automation software, simulation tools, and HMI development. Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies. Demonstrated experience in project management, leading complex automation initiatives. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities. Experience with machine vision, AI, and advanced sensor technologies is a plus. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, balancing remote collaboration with on-site presence.
