Job Description

Our client, a leader in the aerospace industry, is seeking a highly experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their esteemed team in Dallas, Texas, US . This role is critical in the design, development, and testing of complex mechanical systems for cutting-edge aerospace applications. The ideal candidate will possess a deep theoretical and practical understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, solid mechanics, and materials science, applied within the context of aerospace engineering challenges. You will lead design efforts, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to bring innovative concepts from ideation through to production. This position demands exceptional analytical skills, a rigorous approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to pushing the boundaries of engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the mechanical design and analysis of critical aerospace systems and components. Develop detailed engineering designs, specifications, and manufacturing drawings using CAD software. Perform advanced engineering analysis, including FEA (Finite Element Analysis), CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), and thermal analysis. Oversee the prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical systems to ensure performance and reliability. Collaborate closely with systems engineers, electrical engineers, and software developers to ensure integrated system design. Mentor and guide junior mechanical engineers, fostering technical growth and best practices. Identify and implement innovative design solutions to overcome complex engineering challenges. Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements. Contribute to proposal development and technical reviews. Troubleshoot and resolve design and manufacturing issues throughout the product lifecycle. Qualifications:

Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, with a significant focus on the aerospace sector. Demonstrated expertise in the design and analysis of high-stress, high-temperature mechanical systems. Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and FEA/CFD tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus). Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and testing methodologies relevant to aerospace. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Proven leadership and mentorship capabilities. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information effectively.
