Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize plastic components using Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles to ensure efficient production
  • Collaborate with toolmakers to design, procure, and review injection molds
  • Set up, troubleshoot, and refine injection molding processes and parameters for optimal part quality
  • Utilize mold flow simulation software, such as Moldflow or SolidWorks Plastics, to optimize material flow and guide design decisions
  • Manage, audit, and drive continuous improvement with external injection molding suppliers
  • Evaluate and recommend plastic resins based on product specifications and cost constraints
  • Implement quality control plans and identify opportunities for waste reduction and process optimization

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical / Plastics Engineering
  • Min 10+ years of hands-on experience in the plastics industry, specifically with injection molding processes
  • Proven proficiency in operating and troubleshooting injection molding presses
  • Familiarity with CAD software and strong experience using mold flow simulation tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications (GD&T knowledge preferred)
  • Expertise in injection mold design, construction, and rapid prototyping methodologies
  • Able to travel APAC region for work related purpose ( 30% )
