Principal Pharmaceutical Research Scientist - Drug Discovery

Our client, a pioneering pharmaceutical company, is searching for a highly accomplished Principal Pharmaceutical Research Scientist to lead groundbreaking initiatives in drug discovery. This role is based in the vibrant hub of Los Angeles, California, US . The Principal Scientist will be responsible for designing and executing complex research projects aimed at identifying and validating novel therapeutic targets and developing innovative drug candidates. You will leverage your expertise in medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, and molecular biology to drive projects from early-stage discovery through preclinical development. Key responsibilities include leading a team of researchers, mentoring junior scientists, and managing external collaborations with academic institutions and biotech partners.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of disease pathways, drug mechanisms of action, and the challenges associated with pharmaceutical development. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing cutting-edge research strategies, interpreting complex experimental data, and presenting findings to internal stakeholders and scientific advisory boards. Experience with high-throughput screening, assay development, and structure-based drug design is essential.
