Principal Pharmaceutical Scientist

Our client, a leading global pharmaceutical company, is seeking a highly accomplished Principal Pharmaceutical Scientist to contribute to groundbreaking drug development initiatives in Phoenix, Arizona . This senior scientific role requires extensive expertise in pharmaceutical formulation, drug delivery systems, and solid dosage forms. The Principal Scientist will be responsible for leading research and development projects, designing and executing experimental studies, and troubleshooting complex formulation challenges. You will play a key role in the entire drug development lifecycle, from pre-formulation studies to process development and technology transfer to manufacturing. Responsibilities include developing innovative and robust drug product formulations, optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure scalability and reproducibility, and authoring relevant sections of regulatory submissions (e.g., IND, NDA). The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of physical chemistry, materials science, and analytical techniques relevant to pharmaceutical development. Strong experience with various dosage forms, particularly oral solid dosage forms, is essential. This role demands excellent scientific judgment, problem-solving abilities, and a track record of successfully bringing pharmaceutical products from discovery to commercialization. You will be expected to mentor junior scientists, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (including analytical development, DMPK, regulatory affairs, and manufacturing), and stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements and regulatory guidelines.
