Our client, a prominent player in the London, England, UK energy market, is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Principal Process Engineer to lead critical projects and drive innovation within their operations. This role demands a deep understanding of complex energy systems and a proven ability to optimize processes for efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance.
The Principal Process Engineer will be responsible for the conceptualization, design, and implementation of large-scale process improvements across the company's energy infrastructure. This includes conducting advanced feasibility studies, developing detailed process flow diagrams, and utilizing sophisticated simulation tools to model system performance under various conditions. You will lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers and technical specialists, providing expert guidance and ensuring project milestones are met. Key responsibilities involve overseeing risk assessments, ensuring compliance with stringent industry regulations, and identifying opportunities for technological advancements.
This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong analytical and problem-solving capacity. Qualifications:
Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. Chartered Engineer status is highly desirable. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in process engineering within the energy industry. Demonstrated expertise in process design, simulation (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus), and optimization for large-scale energy projects. Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental considerations. Proven leadership experience, including managing technical teams and complex projects. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
