This senior role is critical for driving scientific discovery, developing novel material compositions, and translating research findings into tangible technological advancements. The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field, coupled with a distinguished record of innovation and scientific publication.
Responsibilities:
Lead and execute cutting-edge research projects focused on the discovery, synthesis, characterization, and application of novel advanced materials. Design and conduct complex experiments, utilizing state-of-the-art analytical techniques and equipment. Develop theoretical models and computational simulations to predict material properties and performance. Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and draw scientifically sound conclusions. Author high-impact scientific publications, patents, and technical reports. Present research findings at international conferences and to internal stakeholders. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers and product developers, to transition research discoveries into viable product concepts. Manage research projects, including budget, timelines, and resource allocation. Mentor and guide junior research scientists and technical staff. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in materials science and related fields through literature review and scientific engagement. Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and laboratory best practices. Contribute to the strategic direction of the research and development division.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Minimum of 8-12 years of post-doctoral research experience in an academic or industrial R&D setting, with a significant focus on advanced materials. Demonstrated expertise in material synthesis, characterization techniques (e.g., SEM, TEM, XRD, XPS, spectroscopy), and performance testing. Proven track record of innovation, evidenced by high-quality publications in peer-reviewed journals and issued patents. Experience with computational materials science and modeling tools is highly desirable. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex scientific concepts clearly. Strong leadership and project management capabilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment. A deep passion for scientific inquiry and technological advancement. Experience in leading research teams and managing R&D projects.
